Kalman Filters
The Kalman Filter is one of the most important and commonly used state estimation algorithms. In other words, it can use data from sensors (where there is inherently some uncertainty) and provide accurate and precise estimation of hidden variables such as a robot's current position in space. The Kalman Filter can also provide a prediction of the future state of the system based on past estimations and measurements.
